About a month before my appointment to Hillsdale UMC I attended a Conference called “making a go move” that Bishop Frank Beard preached at the end of the conference. As a friend and colleague of mine and I were listening to this message he leaned over and asked me, “why is the Bishop preaching about a soap dispenser!”
Still to this day I look back and laugh at this moment but right now it’s a little more serious. In this time of Covid-19 these two things are necessary but sometimes we do not hear the most important message. I don’t want to underplay the importance of cleanliness right now but as Christians we are most importantly spreading hope in our world.
As the pastors of Port Byron and Hillsdale UMC our goal with these devotions is to dispense some hope out of our hope dispensers to you so you can then spread hope with those around you. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the Conviction of things not seen.” Let us spread hope today so that we can allow people an opportunity to grow in faith and love of Jesus Christ.
So friends make sure you use your soap dispensers but more importantly let us be hope dispensers to show that even in these hard times God is still in control and giving us hope today.
