Lets Make a List

To start this off I would like you to humor me and write down a list for me. The list should be a list of the thing that you truly need in a situation like we are in currently. If you were mandated to stay within your house what are the first things you think of needing? My list off of the top of my head would look something like this.

  • My Wife

  • My Puppy

  • Food in the Fridge

  • My Bible

What does your list look like? Does it look similar or very different than mine? No matter what it looks like there is one thing I’m certain that we all need in this time is Gods love. This scripture from the Apostle Paul also gave us a list.

Romans 8:38-39 says “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This is Good News friends! Paul was writing this in a time that of massive persecution and confusion within the early church. Doesn’t this sound like it like something we need today.

As a Community we need to know that absolutely nothing can separate us from God. If I were to make a list like the apostle Paul’s list today I think it would look a little like this: I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor Covid19, nor social distancing, nor empty store shelves, nor technical Difficulties, nor stay at home order, nor no work, nor school closures, nor cancelled worship services, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. In conclusion simply this to shall pass and guess what we are still connected to God’s love for us and God is still on the throne.

Prayer: let us pray for the students who are out of their normal situation. For the students live in so many different unknowns in this time. Let us pray for unite in Gods love over our lives!
